I need more consistency here lol.

Ok so it been a long time (again) and i apologize but I hard to make the transition into school life which has been pretty difficult seeing that I dont have one textbook and we're in week...what 5 now? That being said I still managed a 88 on my Physcology test haha, talk aobut extreme note-taking.

I got to cover my first ASU football game and the expirience was great. From the catered food to the press box view it was all somewhat surreal. I took alot of pics to show but thanks to the wonderful Iphone they have since been erased I have another game in about two weeks ill make sure to post pictures then.

Photobucket

Last but not least the first issue of Scottsdale Chronicle came out today, so go HERE to read my work so far. Unfortunately I dont have any opinion pieces to show but there are still some good stories there so go see and tell me what you think. By the way the football story is mine Max the online editior is trying to take crdit for my work haha jk Max it was probably just a mistake.

Life is...good

So i just recently got confirmation that i will be able to cover the Arizona State football games this year which is HUGE for me and I'm blessed to have the opportunity.

On another i took a family outing to the Diamondbacks game last night here are some pics from my great seats. Oh yeah Dbacks lost 4-3 lol.

Egg on my face.

Ok so as much as I hate to admit it, I was wrong, it seems as if Brett Favre will stay retired. Or will he? Whose to say he wont give the Vikings a call tonight and tell them to get that #4 jersey ready, It's not like the guy hasn't changed his mind before. But as for now the joke's on me thanks Brett.

Oh yeah, Mike Vick back in the NFL, or at least he's allowed to play. He's got to find a team first. After spending 23 months in jail and 2 years out of the league Vick has a long road ahead of him before he touches the field again.

I just wanna be successful.

I talked a fellow employee of mine today, a gentleman in his mid 60's. He has worked at Officemax for 20 years... I began to think, " wow he has spent over a quarter of his lifetime working in this store." Everyone knows the saying "you only live once" and i began to think what if that was me? Now I can not judge the man, I'm sure that he is more than happy and content with his life, but it made me realize that I...want more than that for my lifetime.

So as i slowly made my way through another day at the Max, i began to ask myself. How? How will I be able to look back on my lifetime and smile with satisfaction? Theoretically speaking, anyone determined enough can go to school and get a degree, but I wanted to know how I can go beyond that. I believe i found away to go beyond just obtaining that piece of paper. A simple quote that read "Take pride in everything you do." Meaning no matter what it is you do, you should do it to the best of your ability. If you flip burgers, then you should aim to be the best burger flipper the world has ever seen. If you do that then, that extra determination will push you farther than any degree ever could.

I have big, and i mean big dreams for myself. I don't wanna be famous for the money and the luxury, I just want to be remembered as a person who gave his all at what he did. A person who made a difference...

Goodnight.

The light at the end of the tunnel!

Ok so I am extremely excited for the end of July. Why you might ask? Because that is the beginning of NFL training camps! LOL I mean I love baseball as much as the next guy, but when June 14th marked the end of the NBA season, I suddenly came to a chilling conclusion...that i would be stuck with nothing but baseball highlights on sportscenter every night. I mean sure there's soccer but last time I checked i still did live in America (sorry soccer fans)...But now football is back! I know I know I have months of training camps and preseason football to live through first, but football is football and I'm just glad its back!

Oh and by the way YES Lebron James got dunked ok, we get it. I you see the video you cant even understand what is happening the quality is so bad, Nike/ESPN really made this a bigger deal than it had to be.

Here we go again..

This seems like Deja Vu, weren't we in the same place this time last year with QB legend Brett Favre? Is he coming back? SHOULD he come back? Here are my thoughts...

First off, Farve is coming back. He recently announced that he will make his official decision within 30 days, but it's clear to me that Brett has had his mind made up for quite sometime now. Why else would he have gotten the bicep surgery, and continuing his rehab and workouts. Because, he still wants to play that's why. So the question now is CAN he play? Favre is 39 years old and is coming off, arguably, the worst year of his career. However, for the Minnesota Vikings, there is no doubt that there is no better quarterback available for their franchise. So you know Farve is coming back, but will he be successful? only time will tell, as for me ill put my money on him. The Vikings have an above average defense, big threats on the outside with receivers Berrian and Harvin, oh yeah and some guy by the name of Adrian Peterson Favre may be the missing piece the Vikes need. But the number one reason why I'm putting my money on a 39 year-old? Because...he's Brett Favre.

Been gone so Long lol not really

Phew! ok i know ive been gone for awhile but im back now! Ok so personal update: My baby niece Elena will be here in a matter of hours excited for that cant wait.

So much has been going on idk if I can cover anything so bear with me:

First off Shaq goes to the Cavs: I think this was the best move for both teams, For the Suns it was no doubt that the Shaq deal was a bust, there are now clearly headed towards rebuilding the franchise (which i proposed back in the beginning in the year...take a look HERE) For the Cavs, its obvious the front office is trying to show King James that there are willing to improve the team for his benefit. This may be a last ditch attempt to keep LeBron from heading farther east....perhaps the Big Apple in his future?? I guess it depends how this Shaq trade works out...

Staying with the NBA, of course the draft was tonight...shout out to Arizona products James Harden and Jordan Hill going in the top 10 respectively.

On a sad note R.I.P. to the King of pop Michael Jackson, no matter what you thought or felt about him, his style was revolutionary and the world has lost a legend.

I think that's all I got for now ill update again tomorrow.

Most Valuble Puppets

Ok so if you haven't seen the Nike MVP puppet commercials featuring Lebron James and Kobe Bryant you have to be under a rock lol. Some of the funniest commercials ever, including the lastest featuring Kobe celebrating his fourth ring as Lebron watches....check it out

Say it aint So-sa

Ahhh the great feeling of sleeping in. I woke up to espn.com where the top story is on former all-star Sammy Sosa who tested positve for performing enhancing drugs in 2003. I guess I have good timimg with my first article. But as if there was any doubt that Mr. Sosa hadn't been cheating when he and Mark Mcgwire went on a home run tear in 98. Let us not forget that he did deny the use of steriods under oath in front of congress, pending perjury charge maybe?

The beginning

The purpose of this blog site is to enhance my networking for my writing while still having a personal edge. SO why you wont see me cry anout person woes, but Iwill keep a personal touch to show those following i am human lol so as I figure out this whole "blogging" thing bear with me and brace yourself lol.

MLB: Major League Issues

With Baseball back in full swing, fans have come out in force to hear the crack of the bats and the smell of the freshly-cut grass. Gloves on, fans are seemingly excited to embrace this upcoming season. Am I the only one who sees the large black cloud looming over the trouble-ridden MLB?
Commissioner Bud Selig's tenure, which is known as the "steroid era" has drastically changed the view of America's pastime. We've seen the downfall of baseball's most renowned players: the all-time homerun leader in Barry Bonds, a future Hall of Fame pitcher in Roger Clemens, and even New York's golden boy Alex Rodriguez.
However fans seemed to have forgotten the recent turmoil the game of baseball has faced in the past almost as if they've just accepted it as the norm.
Steroids were once the outrage of sports; now it seems as if they are as much a part of the game as strikeouts and homeruns.
Imagine being a rising star spending countless hours in the gym and on the field to improve your game, only to be accused of cheating. I doubt that there will be another great player in the MLB who is not accused, if he's not already using them, of using performance-enhancing drugs.
I know it sounds a cliché but these players are role models for thousands of teens and children alike. I remember watching bits and pieces of the Little League World Series and I could estimate about half of the kids named a player in the MLB who has been taking performance-enhancing drugs as their favorite athlete. Think that's sending the right message? I doubt it.
So here's my solution to begin the repair of Major League Baseball. Everyone, no matter what your status, come forward. Whether you confess or you are accused, your reputation will be tarnished. Admitting fault and accepting responsibility is the only way to slowly rebuilding your character. No more Congressional hearings, which only result in pending perjury cases for those who've who lied under oath. Once everyone comes forward only then can baseball begin to rebuild its legendary status.
If fans continue to accept and ignore the steroid issues, they will only continue to worsen. Everyone makes mistakes or decisions that they regret. The key is owning up to them and its time for Major League Baseball to step up to the plate.
